Inflation and Supply Chain Issues

The high inflation experienced since the pandemic has real and dramatic impacts on competitive labor rates, goods and services - all which materially erode the buying power of federal budgets.  Combined, these effects result in scarce contracting dollars and increased financial and performance challenges across the Industrial Base.  To arm our members with current information, advocacy, and insights, we will highlight efforts on resilient supply chains, improved workforce readiness, innovation and flexibility in acquisition, as well as economic and national security intersects.

CODSIA Comments on FAR Part 40, Info Securityand Supply Chain Security
On June 10, 2024, PSC joined several other associations in comments on FAR Part, Information Security and Supply Chain Security. Submitted as Council of Defense and Space Industry Association (CODSIA) comments, this feedback focused on the need for clarity regarding this new FAR Part's scope and applicability to products and services. PSC Comments on NASA SEWP VI RFP

On Friday, June 7, 2023, PSC submitted comments for NASA’s Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement 6th Generation Government-wide acquisition contract, which provides IT products and services. PSC's comments recommended:

  • removal of language that disallows use of ISO 9001:2015 or CMMI from parents, affiliates, and meaningful relationships
  • removal of spreadsheets where contractors must disclose their own client line-item numbers, and the market rate for their own labor categories, and
  • remove its Supply Chain Risk Management and Sustainability requirements.
