On July 8, 2024, PSC submitted comments on a Small Business Administration direct final rule on "Eliminating Self-Certification for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses." The rule would take effect on August 5 and flows from an FY24 NDAA provision that requires SDVOSBs to be certified by SBA's VetCert Program in order to count toward participation goals. In addition to asking several questions for clarification, PSC's comments highlighted that the VetCert website will be unavailable from August 1 through September (date TBD) due to system upgrades; this will delay applications.
