Request Member Feedback on White House Cyber Regulatory Harmonization RFI

 

 

On July 19, 2023, the Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD) announced a request for information (RFI) regarding cybersecurity regulatory harmonization and regulatory reciprocity. You can access the Fact Sheet here and the RFI here. 

 

ONCD is seeking comments on regulatory conflicts and challenges, inconsistencies, overlap, and/or priorities that can inform harmonization and reciprocity, i.e., updated baseline regulatory requirements that would apply across sectors. 

 

Deadline: The deadline for comments to ONCD is 5:00pm EDT on Friday, September 15, 2023. 

 

PSC Input Request & Deadline: PSC will be sending in comments and requests any interested member company to send comments to Christian Larsen, Senior Associate for Public Policy no later than Friday, September 1, 2023, at Larsen@pscouncil.org. 

 

Note: PSC may also set up a data collection call with member companies in the next few weeks to discuss structure of the comments. 

 

Impacts to Federal Contractors: This RFI builds off on the recently released National Cybersecurity Strategy Implementation Plan, in which PSC identified the following strategic objectives most likely to impact the contracting community: 

 

• 2.3 Increase the Speed and Scale of Intelligence Sharing and Victim Notification
• 3.3 Shift Liability for Insecure Software Products and Services
• 3.5 Leverage Federal Procurement to Improve Accountability
