PSC Honors the Legacy of Rich LaFleur

Arlington, Va. (Aug. 22, 2023) The Professional Services Council mourns the loss of Rich LaFleur and honors his 40-year career at Grant Thornton LLP and his important contributions to the government contracting industry.

LaFleur was the Co-Founder, Emcee and Co-Chair for the Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards established in 2002 and co-sponsored since its inception by PSC and the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce. Through this award, Rich elevated the awareness of the vital importance of government contractors not only to the Washington, DC-metro area’s economy but more importantly to the successful operations of the entire federal government. He gave generously of his time, also serving as Chairman for the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, Board Member for the Greater Washington Board of Trade, and a member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts.

“Rich was a kind and thoughtful leader who encouraged, tested, and befriended his colleagues, friends, proteges, and mentees,” said PSC President and CEO David J. Berteau. “His impact on and importance to the government contracting industry and our government customers cannot be measured. He will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know him.”
