Appropriations/Continuing Resolution Time Again. Are You Prepared?

It’s hard to tell how Congress will put together a funding bill for even a continuing resolution with a week left in the fiscal year. So contractors are doing what they feel they have to – preparing for a lapse in appropriations. The Federal Drive with Tom Temin spoke to the president and CEO of the Professional Services Council, David Berteau. The possibility of a federal budget interruption and the federal workforce putting down their tools is a regular occurrence. By now, contractors should be familiar with the routine and the needed preparations, as offered by Berteau:

+ Prepare now, checking funding levels, and what you may need from the government client in terms of approvals and new obligations.
+ Begin conversations with government counterparts about expectations, even if they have not received any specific instructions.
+ Prepare internally and assess how the team can pivot and, if possible, continue to work – and bill.
