Tomeka B. Scales, Ph.D.

Director, Media Engagement and Communications
       

Dr. Tomeka B. Scales is the Director of Media Engagement and Communications at PSC. She spearheads the execution of public affairs and communications strategies that support and advance PSC’s policy and advocacy objectives.

Prior to joining PSC in 2024, Dr. Scales managed external communications for various organizations in the public and private sectors. Her past responsibilities include launching federal policy reform campaigns, organizing large-scale policy events, devising branding strategies for a public figure, and serving as a press contact in public affairs at NASA HQ.

Tomeka is an author, editor, and teacher. She received her Ph.D. in Communications from Howard University, M.A. in Business from New York University, and B.A. in Psychology from Washington College.

Beyond her professional pursuits, she finds fulfillment in various hobbies, including traveling, exploring new restaurants, visiting museums, and engaging in altruistic activities. Her guiding mantra is "Impossibilities are made possible when you start seeing failure as improbable."
