Discussion With Product Lead of Army CHESS | PEO EIS

Discussion With Product Lead of Army CHESS | PEO EIS

DESCRIPTION
Join PSC for a roundtable discussion with Mr. Wayne Sok, Product Lead, Computer Hardware Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS). An agenda for this session is still in development. Potential topics include CHESS authority and overview, OMB category management, supply chain risk management, current and upcoming contracts, and contract vehicles.

PSC will host the session from 1:30 to 3:00pm on November 15 in our offices.

Wayne Sok became the product lead for Computer Hardware, Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) on July 10, 2019, after previously serving as the program’s deputy. CHESS, which falls under the Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS), supports the Army’s Information Technology (IT) objectives by managing the development and implementation of IT contracts that provide commercial off-the-shelf hardware, software and support services. As product lead, Sok leads the team responsible for establishing and maintaining no-fee, flexible contracts through which Army customers may procure IT hardware, software and services via an e-commerce (IT e-mart) based process. You can read his full bio here.

ABOUT CHESS
Computer Hardware Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) is the Army’s designated primary source for commercial Information Technology (IT). CHESS provides a no-fee, flexible procurement strategy through which an Army user may obtain Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) IT hardware, software, and services contract vehicles via the CHESS IT e-mart. The CHESS IT e-mart offers simple, straightforward CHESS contract vehicles for customers to request quotes or proposals. These contracts provide continuous vendor competition for best value, and consolidation of requirements to maximize cost avoidance and leverage the Army’s buying power.
