Using 3D Printers to Support Hospitals in Egypt

April 16, 2020

1700. That’s how many face shields have been provided to local hospitals in Egypt through one of DT Global’s partners on the ground. An incubation program that supports startups has been using 3D printers and laser cutters to produce vitally important face shields for area healthcare workers on the front lines fighting coronavirus – pivoting from their typical use allowing startups to create mockups that help demo their products to potential investors.

This equipment was made available through the support of USAID’s Strengthening Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (SEED) project, implemented by DT Global. Together, they are helping local hospitals, keeping healthcare workers safe, and using innovation to make a difference in the face of a global pandemic.
