“Industry Afternoons”

The
Department of the Treasury, Bureau of Fiscal Service, Office of Financial
Innovation and Transformation (FIT) has asked PSC to share the following
message with our membership:
The
Office of Financial Innovation and Transformation (FIT) is giving Industry
representatives the opportunity to share innovative solutions that may address
Federal Financial Management needs.
The
“Industry Afternoons” sessions will be an opportunity for FIT and other Fiscal
Service representatives to hear about emerging technologies that may support
Federal financial management. We won’t have the time to discuss FIT
and our role as the Managing
Partner of the FMLoB during the session, so please read about
our work in advance!
What
we would like you to be prepared to discuss:
- A
business problem or opportunity to improve Federal financial management
- An
emerging technology, innovative idea, or solution that will address the
Federal financial management business problem or opportunity
AND
- An
example of how the emerging technology, innovative idea, or solution will
address the Federal financial management business problem or opportunity
preferably leveraging one if the financial management standards
published by FIT
Note: We will leverage this
information to educate Federal Financial Management professionals and possibly
identify new projects government-wide. Please be sure to provide only the
information that can be distributed throughout Fiscal Service, Treasury, and
government agencies. Participation in these sessions does not guarantee
future contracting actions.

Background:
FIT’s
Financial Management Innovation Program was established to make the federal
community aware of emerging innovations and identify ways to use
technologies. The program aims to increase productivity, reduce waste, and
improve the effectiveness in Federal financial management. Via our Innovation
Program, we will engage with stakeholders within and outside government to
identify emerging technologies and innovations to perform pilots or proofs of
concept to improve Federal financial management.
