Our Programs and Accolades Honor Veterans, Reservists, and Military Spouses

Nearly 25% of Serco’s workforce consists of military veterans, reservists, and military spouses; their perspectives, dedication, and sacrifice inspire us to follow our company values of trust, care, pride, and innovation.

At Serco, we consistently celebrate our veterans, recognize their incredible sacrifice, and value the dedication and perspective they bring to the workplace. We are committed to hiring and preparing transitioning service members, veterans, reservists, and military spouses for long-term career growth that employs the diverse skills they acquired through their service. Our employees take pride in community involvement by annually supporting military nonprofits efforts including Toys for Tots, Hearts for Heroes, the Fisher House Foundation, Wreaths Across America, and multiple local initiatives. Our SercoVets mentorship program focuses on equipping participants to adjust to civilian workplace culture, discuss career goals, and create a sense of belonging as professionals. Recognizing the need to support family members who relocate around the world to be with their military spouses, the Department of Defense launched the Military Spouse Employment Partnership--MSEP in 2011. The goal: create employment connections that provide companies with direct access to military spouses seeking career opportunities and spouses with direct access to employers who are actively recruiting.

In less than one year after becoming a MSEP partner, Serco received the designated status of ‘highly engaged,’ the highest level possible. We are honored to have brought on board over 170 military spouses as part of the Serco family. We continue to receive recognition and accolades regarding our Veteran programs. In October 2023 in Richmond, Virginia, Serco received the Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS) Virginia Values Veterans (V3) Triumph Award, which signifies a V3 certified company that has exhibited the “Most Transformative Hiring Process.” This award recognizes Serco’s commitment to recruiting, hiring, and retaining veterans and military spouses, highlighting the hard work and efforts done to ensure our practices help veterans in their transition journey.
