Maximus has made a significant, company-wide commitment to support military and Veteran families and their caregivers. We do this through expanding career opportunities, education and training programs, philanthropy support and in our daily work.
Expanding Career Opportunities
Veterans are an invaluable part of the Maximus workforce. There are more than 3,500 Veterans working across our programs with government agencies aimed at improving the lives of Americans. Veterans bring diverse backgrounds and unique experiences that support their career paths at Maximus, focused on technology, program management, operations, and training.
To further our support, Maximus has a hiring team focused specifically on recruiting Veterans and military spouses, which includes an online hiring portal for Veterans to easily identify employment opportunities. We also partner with organizations, such as Hiring Our Heroes, during recruitment events nationwide. Maximus is keenly aware of the importance of hearing from our Veterans, which was the impetus for the company’s Employee Resource Group created for Veterans and their family members. The group offers resources, training, and onboarding tools, as well as a mentor-mentee program and lunch & learn events, to ensure all Veterans have a positive experience working here. Our work with Veterans has received many accolades, including a four-star employer rating in the 2023 VETS Index and recognition as a Top Veteran Friendly Company from U.S. Veterans Magazine. Giving Back to The Veteran Community
Our support of Veterans is not limited to our workforce. Maximus is a long-time supporter and partner for a wide variety of Veteran organizations, including the USO, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the American Legion. Through these non-profit partners, Maximus offers help for Veterans, including sponsorship for key events and funding for critical programs and outreach.
Digital Transformation That Improves the Veteran Experience
Maximus is recognized as a top 20 government contractor by Washington Technology and is an established partner with the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide support for Veterans, the families, and caregivers. For example, Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company, enables the VA’s mission by delivering quality, timely and accurate medical disability exams to Veterans and transitioning service members, even in remote locations.
