Supporting Our Veterans

By Zach Parker

For over twenty years, DLH has been a valued partner of the Department of Veterans Affairs on their award-winning Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) and Meds-By-Mail (MbM) contract. In support of the VA’s commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services to Veterans, DLH staffs and operates seven CMOP mail-order pharmacy production facilities and two MbM sites with over 1,500 highly trained pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, shipper packers, and management staff. In FY2023, our team processed and packaged over 144M prescriptions, averaging over 500K prescriptions produced each day. DLH works with our VA partners at each site to focus on data analysis, continuous improvement, and implementation of new high tech systems as we seek to increase production volume while reducing production errors and improving quality and veteran satisfaction.

DLH actively recruits Veteran employees via SkillBridge and Virginia Values Veterans networks. Our internal Veteran Community Network (CN) and Military & Veteran Services Affinity Groups (AG) enhance our Veteran-friendly workplace. Our CN fosters connections and resource sharing among Veteran employees, while our AG develops year-round community service opportunities. We partner with Veteran-activated nonprofits to support their mission and cultivate working relationships with their networks to connect both our Veteran employees and the local community to resources. Our DLH Cares giving program also collaborates with our AG for the National Window of Service for Veterans (NWS), our annual two-month period of volunteering, fundraising, and awareness for Veterans nationwide.
