President Biden Revoked COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Workers
On May 9, 2023, President Biden signed an executive order (EO) on "Moving Beyond COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements for Federal Workers", which revoked two earlier EOs that established COVID safety protocols for federal contractors (EO 14042) and federal employees (EO 14043). [Recording Available] Homeland Security Task Force Meeting with Jaclyn Rubino, DHS
On April 26, PSC hosted Jaclyn Rubino, Executive Director, Strategic Programs Division, Office of the Chief Procurement Officer at the Department of Homeland Security. Ms. Rubino briefed and sought member input on a recently developed industry engagement 2 pager focused on educating and encouraging program managers and requirements owners to engage with industry. NIST Released a Discussion Draft of CSF 2.0
On Monday, April 24, 2023, the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) released a Discussion Draft of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0 Core, which identifies potential Functions, Categories, and Subcategories (also called cybersecurity outcomes) of the CSF 2.0 Core. NIST published this document to increase transparency in the CSF 2.0 process, encourage discussion, and inform further development of the CSF 2.0 Draft. NIST welcomes feedback on this draft at any time; you can send your comments directly to cyberframework@nist.gov.
CISA Published Zero Trust Maturity Model Version 2.0
On April 11, 2023, CISA published Zero Trust Maturity Model 2.0 that “provides a gradient of implementation across the five distinct pillars to facilitate implementation, allowing agencies to make minor advancements over time toward optimization of zero trust architecture.” If you have any questions regarding this updated guidance, please send those inputs to Krista Sweet, VP for Civilian Agencies at ksweet@pscouncil.org.
DoD Issued Software Modernization Implementation Plan

Applications for the 2023 Greater Washington GovCon Awards are NOW OPEN! Click here to find awards details, past winners, and to submit your application for one of seven categories. This is your opportunity to participate in our Region's premier event honoring the leadership, innovation, and commitment to excellence of the people and businesses in the region’s government contracting community. Presented by the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce and PSC, the Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards winners will be announced at an evening gala on November 1st. The deadline to apply is June 2.

CIDC Takes the Hill
On Tuesday, more than 15 member companies that are part of PSC’s Council of International Development Companies held their 4th CIDC on the Hill event. Staffing tables in the Gold Room in the Rayburn House Office Building, they were able to meet with key staff from the House Foreign Affairs Committee and current and former senior USAID officials who dropped by and stayed for almost the entire event.
